First Day of School

 Mia is in 2nd grade this year! So hard to believe. She loves school

but was not ready for summer to end!

 Kellan was also not ready for summer to end

He gets so sad when Mia leaves. This whole week he has

been patiently waiting for her return and then has to continue waiting

for her homework to be done before they can play. Mia has been such a good

sister this week playing with him when I know she's tired.

 My 15th year, yes I said 15 and don't I look excited about that!

She's getting a little bigger every year in her graduation shirt :)

She is in the same class as her little BFF Kira and has a little boy named

Maxwell who tried kissing her last year and now is in her class telling her she has some 

strong abs this year. WEIRD. Rick did not like that comment to say the least.

Hopefully it's a great school year for us both!

End of Summer

 Kellan was banging all over the place at night so decided

to change his toddler bed into a full and even get some new car bedding which 

he absolutely loves as you can see! He's been getting up all night screaming down the hall and taking forever to go back to sleep, not sure if it's night terrors or what but it's pretty miserable. We had lavender through a diffuser so I took it out and he then starting sleeping all night. Yay!! But even one

night Rick heard him screaming and he had found his scooter and was riding it down our hallway at 1 am!! 

 this is him giving me the thumbs up on our way to swim at grandma's which we have done at least once sometimes twice a day all summer! We can't wait for our pool to be done too so we can trade off. The other day I asked him what he wanted for a snack, and he said "Hmmmm, can I have some poop?" Then he just started laughing hysterically. He talks about pooping and tooting and farting all day long..

 we went to a fun Gravady place where they got to jump on trampolines and run

around like crazy kids, 

 Rick was having fun too until he jumped and hurt his back,

I said see you are too old..

we have also been to the Discovery Museum a bunch of times!

 and celebrated Spock's 6th birthday!

 last weekend we headed up to Mt. Charleston for a hike

Kellan was so funny, he would not let us hold his hand and he actually did an awesome job

on the hike, it was cute. Mia did awesome too and loved looking for walking sticks.

Tomorrow is the first day of school

Mia's in 2nd grade and this will be my 15th year teaching :/

Big Bear

We decided to try a new place and visit Big Bear.

It's only 3.5 hours away and I got an awesome deal on the hotel room

I couldn't pass it up

the hotel was super rustic cabin style but all the

hotels in Big Bear are this way unless you rent a cabin which

we wanted to try it out first before he did that

this was the kids' favorite part of the room

the bunkbeds! They were in heaven and I forgot to take a picture of them 

in them but they loved it!

we seriously crammed so much in two days.

Alpine slide which was too much fun and Mia even had to ride her own down.

She was really nervous about it but ended up having a blast and wanted to do it again

then we went on some fun go carts but she was sad that she didn't get to drive

Kellan loved it

we took them down to fish at Big Bear lake but that

lasted an hour with Kellan- he is definitely NOT old enough to camp

he would not listen and was making us crazy

but he did have fun throwing rocks

It was so beautiful there, we were going to take them to a swimming

place but it was closed down from the lack of water so we just drove around and sight-seeing

then we went to a fun zoo where you got to see animals up

close, imagine that? Anyway there were even bears which actually roam

Big Bear quite a bit and one bear had 3 legs from getting hit by a car so they saved

him and he's almost 16 years old now.

After the zoo we went to the ski mountain resort and rode the lift all the way to the top, had

lunch and then rode back down. The kids loved this and social Kellan was waving and saying "Hi" 

to everyone we passed and he told Rick, "Dad I just want to make people happy!"

 Seriously the cutest thing, he just loves people- definitely got that one from Rick haha

We thought for sure we would drop our phone with our luck so we 

waited til we were almost down to take the pics. We needed a selfie stick

After that we headed to Big Bear lake and did some Kayaking

We didn't get a pic of Kellan on the kayak because we didn't want to

drop our phone but he even fell asleep for a few minutes

Rick being silly, the Big Bear Village was so adorable,

it reminded me of Jackson Hole Wyoming, so fun with shops

and restaurants and our hotel was right there a few blocks away 

and all towns have a candy shop

We love that Mia can take some pics!

It was a fun few days filled with lots of activities, eating, and trying to get our
2 year old to sleep which is going to be the death of both of us, Definitely not our Mia
who just does what she's told, he has to be the boss of himself ALWAYS.
I just have to look at his cute little face and his silly dances and remember he will be a grown man one day and I will miss his cute little self and also Mia's well behaved self too :)
He definitely tries her patience too.,,back to school next week and work and not happy about it.
