Well he's here.. a little early but healthy and we are so in love with him.
Born January 2nd 1:04 pm 6lbs 12 oz and 19.5 inches long. As of yesterday's
first doctor appointment only 5 days old, he now weighs 6lbs 12.5 oz and the doctor was very
impressed that he already gained even more than his birth weight! Go Kellan!
I was in a little bit of denial when I went into labor on Jan 1st, since
I was only 35 weeks and 5 days along. I started having what I thought was
just pelvic pain at about 9:30 pm that lasted 30 seconds 5minutes intervals and then
by 2:30 am it was 1minute pains only 3 minutes apart, so I finally let Rick
take me to the hospital. I didn't get to shower, grab a bag, nothing. Once there,
they told me I was 100% effaced, dialated to a 2 and my doctor happened to be at the
hospital on call, so that worked out. They gave me a shot to stop the contractions, but it didn't work.
At 1:04 pm, I had the baby and also had about 6 NIC U nurses and
other people in the room waiting for a tiny baby to come out, but to
their surprise, he was a perfect size. He also had the cord wrapped tight
around his neck, so at the end I had to stop pushing and he got him loose. I also
have a tilted pelvic bone from Mia's birth, so the nurse had me use a rope to get the
baby over my bone- it was a cool technique but my arms are still killing me!

His lungs were perfect even though he was so early but his glucose level
dropped once, so he went to the NICU for a day and a half.
Finally back in the room : Grandma Meyers
Grandpa Meyers
Grandma B
Grandpa B was able to give me a blessing in the hospital that pretty
much told us this was going to happen, I was going to have the baby,
and everything was going to be fine. He hasn't held the baby yet
because he caught a super bad cold and so has Mia so we are keeping the
baby in our bedroom away from everyone right now and we feel super
bad for Mia because she was really excited to hold him. She had the whole
house set up with balloons, a sign, flowers, and had my bedroom ready for the
arrival of the baby. Hopefully she can hold him soon!
Pictures are kind of out of order- Kellan getting his first bath
He loved it and I can't stop playing with his hair...

Of course I'm still in shock that I had the baby. Everyone at my work is
too, but he's perfect and we love him so much already :)
