It was 70 degrees on Saturday so we headed to Redrock
to have a picnic on the rocks and hike. My dad used to take
us here a lot when we were little, so it brings back lots of fun memories.

Mia was especially enjoying nature dancing with her eyes
closed. It was cute.

We heard some croaking from down below us while we
were eating lunch so we went to look and found some frogs
in a pond.

A very small pond :)

Mia wanted to throw rocks in the pond

At one point, she almost went in. Look at my reaction!

Dad and Mia sitting on a rock

Mia wanted to surprise her sitter Morgan because it
was her birthday, so she made the cake all by herself
and even decorated it. Then when Morgan came inside,
Mia started singing Happy Birthday and had cards
and a gift card for a pedicure waiting for her. It
 was really cute!

Morgan ( she calls her Mo) and Mia - she LOVES her!

Our little dancer! We started Mia in dance a
few weeks ago at the same place I went to for dance when
I was little. She is really nervous about it still
but her teacher says she's a natural. Rick takes her because
they pretty much only have classes in the morning so it's only
really convenient for stay at home mom's. Lucky for us,
Rick's schedule makes it possible for him to take her.

I told him he had to take pics so I don't feel
like I'm totally missing out ( I still feel that way)

She has been so proud of herself and shows
me everything she learns, today it was okay mom
point your toes to the mirror arms up

She's still having a hard time letting Rick leave the
room so we are working on that, but I think this will
be a great thing for her to do before preschool next year!!

Here is Mia saying her shapes, if you didn't catch the first one,
it's a trapezoid. She knows the pentagon, octogon, and hexagon too.
I can't even get my 3rd graders to learn these shapes, I wish more parents would
show their toddlers new things, they would be so much better off once they are in school.
I showed her a few times and she remembers it, they are such little sponges, it's amazing!
My camera card got full right at the end of course :(

We had a 50s dance at church and luckily
I had an outfit that I bought awhile back for
Halloween next year. I didn't even realize it
had glasses until I opened it. She really did
look so cute!

and the little scarf to match..

Here she is on the dance floor, she LOVED dancing with her grandpa.
I forgot to put a pic of her dancing, it's on my cell phone :)
I had to put a long sleeve under since it was "itchy"
sound familiar Bre???

They even had the 50s diner with rootbeer floats. Fun!

Mia had a blast with Grandpa.

I thought she made a pretty cute 50's girl!

I did the leather jacket/ converse theme. No poodle skirt for me!
Mia has been cracking me up with her little vocabulary.
The other day she said, "mom you are definitely interupting me right now,
I'm doing my project." She is so independent and strong minded.
Rick started taking her to dance this week, so more pictures to come.
He also takes her to the library every week to pick out books, he definitely
does a lot with Mia in those few hours before work and I know she loves it,
he's the best dad :)

Mia was playing fashion show in my closet
the other night, she would pick out the clothes
and my shoes of course and then I had to use
a microphone to introduce her and play the music
while she came out. It was fun!

Grandma B did her hair up in braided buns
and she was very excited about it.

The classic picture- getting mom's shoes

hmm which ones should I pick?

fun stuff to do when it's too cold to go outside,
have a snowball fight with waded paper, you make
different sides and start throwing at eachother,
the side with the fewest snowballs wins. Even
pets enjoy it- note Spock in the background

another fun thing to do is pretend to cook. Mia LOVES
my lower oven.

she likes to pretend to make things in it. Funny story but
I forgot she made playdo shapes and put them on a cookie
sheet and in the oven, so one day when I was preheating,
I luckily realized they were there before they burnt to a crisp

playing in cabinets

I thought this was so cute, she put all her gabba friends
in their own beds in my tub

Grandpa B's birthday!

We HAD to put hats on

Mia enjoying helping him blow the candles out

very into the present thing :)

We went to Roosnmore and took Brooke
and my mom this time- here Mia is holding a
baby kangaroo

Rick with a baby armadillo

we got to feed baby monkeys

and hold them

Aunt Brooke and monkey

this monkey was hilarious

Mia, Aunt Brooke and the monkey who
was pouting

then he took Brooke's hairclip and wouldn't
give it back.

Dad and Mia at the zoo

Mia is obsessed with tortoises

All the girls

Mia petting a kangaroo

Mia pretending to jump like a kangaroo,
this zoo is seriously so amazing...

I guess I needed a day off of work to get these
pics uploaded- Mia has been dressing up a ton
lately, Rapunzel more specifically and making everyone play
Rupunzel with her, she's been obsessed ever since grandma B took her
to see the movie- I'm actually going to attempt a rapunzel cake for her birthday
in March.

she put all her wings on and made Rick fly her around

Mia at the park today- it was 70 degrees ;)

cuteness

grandma stopped by and brought a slush

she went to the tallest slide- look at the table in
the background to see how tall this slide is, I couldn't
believe she did it all by herself!

looking back, she wouldn't let me help or
get close to her.

and there she goes!

then she came home and we played Olivia and the
pirate ship

she is so imaginative and creates these worlds
that we play in, making up characters, scenes,
and settings. It's really fun!

she cracks Rick and I up because her vocab is so high,
she absorbs everything and if you are having a conversation,
she has to always be in the know- what are you guys talking about?
That's her favorite line... She is also sensitive and will say, you just hurt
my feelings mom, and so intuitive, I was having a rough day and she grabbed
my face and asked, "are you happy mom?"

Rick takes her to the park in the mornings alot since he doesn't go in
until noon, so she loves that, plus they have been going to the library a lot
too, she comes home and has her books memorized in a day and will say
you have to be careful mom, these are very expensive.

She seems to be getting taller and taller but skinnier and skinnier
at the same time, plus we grew out her bangs and she just grew
some more underneath, she has just baby fine hair, hopefully it
will get thicker later on.

We got snow the first day back after winter break, so
I missed out on the fun, but Rick and Mia played in it for a long time

she was very excited that it was sticking

speaking of snow, we went to Mt.Charleston with Bre,
Wael, Laith and my mom and dad the day after Christmas.

It was definitely fun

the guys had a great time!

they were trying to flip eachother off of the sled

It was pretty funny to watch

New Years Eve- we finally got to see Brooke and Chris
for a short weekend and did our annual fondue where we each gained
5 lbs but it was super fun. Mia loves being part of the girls, she can't
be left out :)  Happy New Years! Hopefully we can add to our family soon,
send prayers this way :)
