Mia's Field Day and Dance Recital

 Before Field Day, Mia got to be in her teacher's baby 

shower in the lounge with her other little teacher kids and

classmates Rose and Kira. They are all super excited for her

to have this baby she has been wanting for years and years.

 I got to leave my class for a few minutes and go

see her play her games and then Rick came to eat a picnic

lunch outside with her.

 5th year at dance- first year she got to perform ballet

instead of tap to "Our Town" from Disney Cars

 her teacher even came and Mia said, 

"Mom that's the first time a teacher has ever kissed me on the cheek!"

 We got really lucky, not only did we 

have an extra ticket, but Grandma Lil was here 

and got to come to the dance concert! Pretty special!

 she did amazing and of course loved the flowers and attention

 cute pics before church: this kid is so goofy, he went up to my

dad and yelled, "WAKE UP!" Right in the middle of sacrament so that was

cool, he was also telling Mia not to mess his hair up

Then Kinzy babysat him while we went to the concert and he told me the

next day that she's his girlfriend but she's not allowed to see his naked butt? Okay?!!

He's a character, but despite the cuteness you see, he is also fighting ME not Rick just ME on

everything including naps and bedtime, and it's taking the life out of me..

 I can't believe she is almost in 2nd grade, crazy to think how fast

she is growing! She just took a reading comprehension test and scored a 650 Lexile

score which is a 3rd grade level, she's so smart and tries soooo hard in school, I'm so thankful for that

Girls' Weekend

 We all got to meet up in San Diego for a much needed

girls' trip with my sisters and mom. We shopped, ate, and shopped, and ate :)

Random

I forgot to post these pics awhile back but this was in January

when Mia got her gold medal for Sight Words which is 1000 words

She was very excited. It's the end of the year second grade goal, 

so it's awesome that she got it in first grade.

 she also got her end of first grade math facts award too

 Kellan got his hair cut this week, he was constantly yelling that it 

was in his face and then when I would try and put a sports headband of a pony in it,

he would want to go put one of Mia's dresses on... so I thought it was time :) 

 I actually wanted it like this but just shorter on the top, 

but I think the lady just copied Rick's hair 

 so this is what he came home with- he loves it!

Mia and I are sad, in fact Mia cried about it for 2 days, I said make sure you tell Kellan it's cute

so she would say I love your hair and then go around the corner and cry that he doesn't look like 

Kellan and she misses the curls and he looks like a diff kid- I am sad too not going to lie. 

 He's also been a stinker with sleeping lately and as

you can see he has all his toys lined up in his crib ( he def has some ocd in him like Mia)

We are trying to prolong the toddler bed thing....

 Kellan has also been potty training ughhhh

doing great at pee except when he found Mia's mini toilet in her 

room which he was super excited about and peed in it. 

 poop on the other hand is a huge ordeal every day of screaming, he tries to hold

it in instead of sitting on the toilet. It's beyond frustrating.

 last Saturday we went to the Lion Habitat which was really cool

They just had 5 baby cubs too!

 the lions were so up close it was awesome growling and jumping at the fences
