Birthdays, Newport and Easter

We have been very busy these last few weeks. Mia had
her first talk in primary and did an amazing job. It was about
the prophet and she insisted that I got our temple book out because
she wanted to show everyone where she is getting married and made
me mark the Las Vegas temple. It was really cute! She's been talking about getting
married A LOT, I think it's a big topic in primary which is freaking Rick out :)
She went right to the front and wasn't shy at all. She was also
very concerned that Grandpa B wasn't there yet and kept waiting
til he walked into the primary room. Then she was grinning ear to ear.
She LOVES primary and learns so much from it. She even sang Choose the Right
to a girl working at Subway in California. Early missionary :)
I missed having my birthday fall on Spring Break by a day
so I had to spend it at work and even got observed but we all
went for Sushi that night and came home and had presents and cake.
Grandpa B tried all the sushi and loved it, so I might have another sushi partner!
Here's Rick putting the 33 candles on my cake. I couldn't
figure out how old I was, so we kept counting when I was born and add
it up. It always seems to just blend after 30. ( Doesn't Rick look really buff in this pic?
working out is paying off :)
Mia is very excited about the Cadbury eggs that Grandma Lil
gave me. I don't think I will be getting any. She is sooo much like
me with chocolate and always says, " Dad, girls just need chocolate, don't they?"
I got a really nice computer and printer and some gift cards
and money to go shopping, so I definitely got spoiled.
Mia LOVES birthdays. In fact, she plans them for Bear
and her other stuffed animals all the time.
I told Rick to please not get me a "Butt" cake, so he
got a German Chocolate Cake ( wish it was yours Nicole)
 Rick and I
Missing Grandpa B in this pic, but here's everyone
The next morning we were off to California and one of
our first stops was Laith's 2nd Birthday. It was crazy!
Mia loved the Gabba Theme and so did Laith. He is just the
cutest little boy, he cracks us up with his energy yet he's so cuddley:)
 Laith, Wael, and Bre
There were about 35 kids so Mia was a little shy
and they had a clown that she wasn't quite sure of,
but she had a lot of fun!

I love this pic, because once Laith discovered the cake,
you couldn't get him away from it, look at the sneaky face,
he is determined to get a little taste!!
It was a beautiful day to be outside!
All the kids even had Gabba glasses to wear. It's so
cute because this is what Mia's birthday theme was when
she turned 2!

This is the first time we got to meet our nephew Kyse
and as you can see Rick is already smitten by him. He
was just a doll :)
He looks totally different than Laith and is just precious.
They are very lucky.
I got to hold him for about 5 minutes until everyone
else wanted him.
Mia at Crystal Cove digging in the sand. It was pretty
much overcast for part of every day, so we got to go walk
along the beach. Of course, Mia was afraid at first which
happens every year, but then she gets used to it. The waves are
so loud and big, but we have to remind her that she's safe.
Rick and I on the beach
Off to Newport Beach. Mia loves this beach, but she
also wished her cousins were there too. Aunt Bre and Wael
got her a really cute icecream sand set and she played
with it the whole time. It was such a great gift!
She just loves laying out in the sand
 who is the diva??
Of course Grandpa B and her got to go look for shells
and they even found a moth who got to be our pet for the day.
We then  went to Crab Cooker for lunch. Yum!!
Mia got a little hot and wanted her swimsuit on, never
underestimate the California Sun, her little back got so
fried where her swimsuit hung down underneath and it's barely
looking better a week later. :( I felt horrible!!
Here is her little shell collection
This was at Laguna Beach at night. It was a little chilly.
We got burgers and had a picnic

 digging

 At Crystal Cove with dad
Monday and Tuesday were spent at the beach digging and
relaxing in the sun. We had a lot of fun. We even tried the swimming
pool at the condo but it was a little chilly. Rick was nice enough to
get in the pool with Mia and I stayed in the jacuzzi. Chris and Brooke
came Monday and got to spend some time with us. Mia loves goofing around
with Chris, it's pretty cute. We went to Rusty Pelican Tuesday night and Mia
was really good at the fancy restaurant. Sometimes it's hard to be the only kid
on a vacation with all adults, but she was pretty well behaved for just turning 4!
Wednesday was Disneyland day! We were very excited
and Mia and I wore cute Disney shirts. This guy in the store asked
where I got mine and when I said Ross for five bucks, he was a little shocked,
I said, ya I'm a bargain shopper. He told me I must be good at it :)
 First time on the teapots
I love the look on her face in the Small World which was
her favorite. She was singing it all day.
This pretty much sums up the day. She was really scared of rides this time
unlike last summer. I think it's just the age, but the look of terror is what we got
quite a few times. If it had a tunnel, she was not about it, which is about 90 % of Disneyland
Oh well!
Of course she loved seeing all the characters.

And this the first time she got to go on Utopia because of the
long lines in the summer. She had a blast!
The ONLY family pic we got :)
 LOVES Mickey and Minnie

Mia ready to go on the Safari ride
Off to California Adventures. They have a really cool
Bug's Life and tons of little rides to go on.

Can we say "OH BOY!!" If anyone knows Mia's obsession
with Cars, it's BAD!! Like non stop hours and hours, doesn't play
with anything else. Well they are doing a Cars themed park inside
the California Adventure and Mia can't wait. Rick might have to take
her when I'm working in the fall. She even sat and watched the movie of it being made
that was so boring but she thought it was fascinating.
She honestly could have spent all day looking at Mator
and Lightening McQueen
Making sure they have him perfect

Now she's perked up after some sugar waiting for the parade.

She loved the parade! It so nice to just sit back and see everything up close
Last stop before heading home was Rapunzel. Disneyland
was a success and even better, we paid for most of it with our change
we've been saving up since last summer, so we get to start saving again
for next year :)
 Grandma B and Mia
I was determined to get at least one Family pic
Last thing we did before we left was eat in front
of Ruby's diner on the Crystal Cove Beach

Oops here's the rest of Ruby's
One more family pic before hitting the road. Of course we had
a great time in Newport Beach. Spring Break flew by and is definitely
bittersweet. It's been a tough year at work and I'm ready for the summer
so I get to spend all my time with Mia and just be a mom for a few months!
Even though she was sad to come back from Cali, she REALLY wanted
to color eggs and loved every minute. Oh and when we got back to town,
of course our cat Spock was so mad at me for leaving him, that he bit me for 2 days
straight, well I caught her telling him, " Spock you really need to be nice to my mom and dad,
I have to have parents, it can't just be me and you. " Oh it was so cute!!
Car eggs, hmm are you surprised??
And look at what the Easter bunny brought... new art supplies,
candy, a kite and some eggs. Fun fun!
The night before Easter, we made a cute bunny cake.

Here's Mia with her wild hair looking at her stash. The Easter
bunny even left huge white footprints in the backyard and some eggs
at our house and Grandma B's to hunt.
Then we headed to church- we went to my cousin Lynsie's
blessing for Corbin at her ward and had Easter lunch afterwards.

Sorry my pics are backwards, but we did do a community
easter egg hunt that was a little crazy. We ended up with 2 eggs and no
broken bones, so I guess it was a success!
And we got to see the Easter bunny in Newport Beach
where Mia informed me that she saw skin on his arm. We told her
that Spock and Bentley have skin under their fur too. She didn't look convinced.
What am I going to do with this girl?? Haha ;)
