Look what my dad found by his pool!! Sooo cool!
We brought him to our house, but he started making a
crying sound so we took him back, I can't figure out what kind
he is. Awesome :)

Mia of course fell in love, this one loves anything that moves
and breaths. She didn't want to let him go.

of course the cat wouldn't leave him alone and at one
point the toad jumped out, he's super fast!

Mia very excited about decorating for fall

We went to Gilcrease farm today to pick pumpkins.
Mia was so cute and when she posed she said, "Merry
Pumpkin Picking day!"

She was very determined to find the "perfect " pumpkin
We ended up with 5!!

besides the wind, it was really fun!

Dad came and tried to keep up with his crutches, he
did pretty good

Since it is a farm, we let her drive

Then we went across the street to another farm that had
baby kittens, oh boy! That's all we've heard today, "I
want a baby kitten!"

They had cows, sheep, goats, chickens, huge bunnies,
and much more

They even had a little train to ride

and fish to look at

found a spot to wait for the horse ride

she was putting on a show for everyone, she LOVES to dance
and is in tap/ballet this year, so she is definitely being a ham!

she was smiling the ENTIRE time on this horse. Too cute!

It was a very fun day, more pics to come. Mia has been so obsessed
with cars for the last 6 months, and I need to get it on tape. She spent an
hour with my dad going through the car/driver magazine showing him every single
name of the cars- honda, Mercedes, BMW, you name it, it's amazing. She memorizes
their symbols/style and can name them all. It's so funny to watch a little girl who looks
so girlie, yet she likes nothing that has to do with being a girl. She will only shop for dinosaurs and
cars. I guess we have the best of both worlds with this one. She's definitely a treasure!!!

Rick's bday

Today was Rick's bday (thank goodness) Mia has been
obsessing over it for 2 weeks now. We did a Disney Cars
theme ( Mia's idea) , so we did a race track cake and used the
31 as the track, we then used Mia's little cars like Lightning McQueen to put
around the track. It was really fun and super easy to make. Mia did her own invitations
and even put dad, Mia, and the number 6 for the time in the invites, it was sooo cute!

Of course we couldn't eat the race track cake, so Grandma
B brought the bundt cake, better known as butt cake since
that's where it goes. We had both grandparents over and got
pizzas from Ray down the street. It was so cute watching Mia
excited for Rick to open presents.

Rick looking at his cake

Mia explaining how she made the cake

blowing out candles- funny to think I married this guy when he
was only 26!

Rick just had ACL surgery so he had to sit a lot, but Mia
didn't mind doing all the work for him, one of his gifts was
a racing experience with an Indy car all by himself. I've had
it secret for a long time, he was excited. Mia said she's going to
come and wear her Dora helmet. Haha!!

I also got him a 6 course Moraccin restaurant date night so
we had Mia come out with belly dancing wrap and do a dance before
she gave him the gift, it was hilarious! I didn't get a pic of the
outfit, but we got it on video

good little helper

No pics of grandparents ( oops) but it was
a great bday!!

Some stuff we've been up to: Mia got to
go to a dinosaur track museum in St. George,
Utah yesterday while helping her aunt Brooke move.
This is like Disneyland to her, she LOVES dinos,
just wait til Halloween, ( I was picturing something
girly, nope she's going to be a Pteradactl)

They found this Trex footprint right there in
St. George, she was amazed.

This is the leg bone of an Allosaur-

Mia's first time getting REALLY dirty. This is what you
do when you have dirt in your backyard.

people pay a lot of money for one of these
lovely mud baths!

oh my :)

We headed up to Mt. Charleston for a hike and of course
Mia collected sticks the whole time ( a little genetic thing she
got from her Grandma M, along with collecting rocks, dinosaurs,
stuffed animals, etc- this is not from my side, we throw everything away)

dad and Mia

growing up

Rick and I had to go to a  "redneck" party
for Dustin, this was the best we could do!

Mia at the Natural History Museum- she just eats this stuff up

That's what we've been up to. Mia got VERY sick after
her FIRST week of preschool, so we've been homebound,
but she's better so we will try again this week. She's also doing
dance again at Bunker and is very excited about it- she even showed
us some contemporary stuff she learned on her own where she was being very
serious and it was pretty cute. More dance pics to come :)

This is for all of you who saw Mia not swimming this summer. When
there's a will, there's a way. She was determined to swim without
putting her head under and she did it!!! She's even singing while she
does the back stroke. She can tread water for more than 5 minutes
in the deep end, puppy dog paddle across the pool, and she's even
gone under "a few " times. Swimming EVERY day with me has
definitely paid off. Great job Mia :)

Look who started preschool today?
She was so excited and ready to go by 8:00,
she kept saying , come on dad , I'm ready!
When she got there, she told him to go. Her
teacher said she got a little upset that bear wasn't
with her ( that will take some time to get used to)
other than that, she was so happy to learn and very
excited about her day. Great job Mia !! :)

The sad thing is they don't want backpacks
which Mia picked out with a kitty on it and loves
it ( as a teacher, I don't get it, but whatever)
So we have to leave it home for next year :)

I was sad because it was my first day too, so
I didn't get to take her, maybe it was better that
way- dad is much stronger at stuff like that:)
When we went to the dentist and she got upset, I was
like okay let's go haha, I don't like seeing her get upset,
but Rick said she was such a big girl! We love her
so much :)

Can you believe how big she looks??

few new happenings: Mia started Sunbeams last week:
long story short is that she HATED nursery, she's twice as big
as everyone, talks a hundred times better, everyone is sick, and she
told me it was a dangerous place... so the bishop let her go to Sunbeams.
And she loved it! Her teachers told me she was the most reverant one and
was definitely ready to be there. Except I think she had a lesson on forgiveness
because she told me she didn't forgive me last night when she was mad at me and
said she learned it in Sunbeams. Ha ha !! Here are some pics of her ready to go :)

I walked across my floor to find this and thought it was
very intuitive and creative: she told me these are all the carnivores
gathered around the meat ( her turkey from her kitchen)
And yes she says the words carnivore and herbavore,
ask her aunts!

The herbavores are gathered around greens

and the rest of the herbivores are trying to get to their
food ( veggies and fruit)
She is so amazed by dinosaurs, every day it's , mom
did you know an allosaurus is as long as a bus or a
trex can eat humans? It's so fun!

Spock turned 2 in July, so we had a party: Mia was in
charge and she made the invites and decorated. Aunt
Brooke and Grandma B came too.

He even got his own icecream cake and liked it- the teenage
boys at Coldstone thought it was hilarious that they had to
write Happy Birthday Spock on a cake, it made their day!
Mia was very specific to them and told the boys what Spock's
bday party was going to have, it was pretty cute!

He even got a few new toys

The things we do for kids :)
