Mia's Birthday! We started the day at Build a Bear
(wish I was the guy that invented this) She was
very excited, I was picturing a girl bear, nope a boy
owl??

Trying to decide...

She found him..

looking at all the clothes

Giving the little heart a kiss to put in her owl

Taking it very serious

She named him "Bine"

dad helping dress Bine

She definitely enjoyed Build a Bear, we ended with 2 outfits
and some glasses and a cute little owl :)

I got her birthday party all set up while she was taking a nap

She came out and immediately went inside the castle
Rick built her. She loved it!

She immediately got out her dress up stuff and said she
needed to look like a princess for her Tangled party

sitting inside her castle

I decided to make Mia a Rapunzel Tower cake for her
Tangled theme. It was a super fun cake to make. The look
on her face was  priceless when I brought it out. I even
used chocolate rocks for the bottom. It was fun!

I placed Rapunzel on the top

All the Tangled characters on the bottom and then I colored
coconut to make the grass.

Grandpa B in the castle. She told him he was her first guest

We did a barbecue even though it was 100 mph wind outside,
her favorite meal is a hamburger

Aunt Brooke even came from Utah because she needed
some family time...Mia was really excited to see her and play!

This is the look on her face when she saw the Rapunzel
cake I made. It was priceless.

She just kept staring at it, so cute!

She wouldn't stop staring at it and she won't even
let me touch it now that her party is over, it is still
sitting on the table with everything decorated.

As soon as she saw the flip flops she said, Great mom
these are for the beach!

At one point, Mia stood up and said, " Hey guys,
This is the best birthday party ever!" We even got it
on video, my dad said it sounded rehearsed it was so cute!

She was so funny about opening her presents, because
she didn't get tired of it, she was enjoying every second.

She told Grandma and Grandpa M about wanting a chair
like dad's in his office, so they found her one !

She set it right next to his

They also got her hoolahoops, so Brooke and I tried
(don't mind me sticking my belly out, yuck)

Of course we had to get a nothing bundt cake to do the
actual candles. She was grinning ear to ear when we sang
to her.

Eating yummy cake

Here's her load!

oops need to get the chair in there

Mia on her new scooter having a blast

Inside her castle with all her new stuff

phew it sure is tiring having a big birthday party but it
was a great success!

Quote of the day sitting in church: Grandma, I'm just growing up aren't I?
Do you think I'm always going to be this short??

forgot one..
Mia's 3 year old pics, I can't believe she's
almost 3. She was hilarious today. After a few
poses, sheasked thelady, "So now what do you
want me to do?" She was cracking us up!
Then we went to the park and took our new camera. Do
you see the perfect curl coming down? Why didn't I let
it look like that in all her pictures? I hate when you wish you
would have done things differently, oh well. Anyway, we
love our new camera...

It was 70 degrees on Saturday so we headed to Redrock
to have a picnic on the rocks and hike. My dad used to take
us here a lot when we were little, so it brings back lots of fun memories.

Mia was especially enjoying nature dancing with her eyes
closed. It was cute.

We heard some croaking from down below us while we
were eating lunch so we went to look and found some frogs
in a pond.

A very small pond :)

Mia wanted to throw rocks in the pond

At one point, she almost went in. Look at my reaction!

Dad and Mia sitting on a rock

Mia wanted to surprise her sitter Morgan because it
was her birthday, so she made the cake all by herself
and even decorated it. Then when Morgan came inside,
Mia started singing Happy Birthday and had cards
and a gift card for a pedicure waiting for her. It
 was really cute!

Morgan ( she calls her Mo) and Mia - she LOVES her!

Our little dancer! We started Mia in dance a
few weeks ago at the same place I went to for dance when
I was little. She is really nervous about it still
but her teacher says she's a natural. Rick takes her because
they pretty much only have classes in the morning so it's only
really convenient for stay at home mom's. Lucky for us,
Rick's schedule makes it possible for him to take her.

I told him he had to take pics so I don't feel
like I'm totally missing out ( I still feel that way)

She has been so proud of herself and shows
me everything she learns, today it was okay mom
point your toes to the mirror arms up

She's still having a hard time letting Rick leave the
room so we are working on that, but I think this will
be a great thing for her to do before preschool next year!!

Here is Mia saying her shapes, if you didn't catch the first one,
it's a trapezoid. She knows the pentagon, octogon, and hexagon too.
I can't even get my 3rd graders to learn these shapes, I wish more parents would
show their toddlers new things, they would be so much better off once they are in school.
I showed her a few times and she remembers it, they are such little sponges, it's amazing!
My camera card got full right at the end of course :(

We had a 50s dance at church and luckily
I had an outfit that I bought awhile back for
Halloween next year. I didn't even realize it
had glasses until I opened it. She really did
look so cute!

and the little scarf to match..

Here she is on the dance floor, she LOVED dancing with her grandpa.
I forgot to put a pic of her dancing, it's on my cell phone :)
I had to put a long sleeve under since it was "itchy"
sound familiar Bre???

They even had the 50s diner with rootbeer floats. Fun!

Mia had a blast with Grandpa.

I thought she made a pretty cute 50's girl!

I did the leather jacket/ converse theme. No poodle skirt for me!
Mia has been cracking me up with her little vocabulary.
The other day she said, "mom you are definitely interupting me right now,
I'm doing my project." She is so independent and strong minded.
Rick started taking her to dance this week, so more pictures to come.
He also takes her to the library every week to pick out books, he definitely
does a lot with Mia in those few hours before work and I know she loves it,
he's the best dad :)
