We decided to do Polar Express this year in Williams,
one because we knew it would be the last year with just one
little munchkin, and two we booked it in the summer not knowing
we were doing Disney, so needless to say this little one has been very busy
this holiday season and her parents are now exhausted. :)
The normal 3.5 hour trip took almost 8 because the freeway
closed down due to the almost 10 inches of snow they got. It
was miserable. I had to hold my pee for almost 4 hours and being almost
9 months pregnant, I was in tears the last hour. There wasn't even
a spot to try and pee on the side of the road. Cars were everywhere.
We got there just in time to get on the train. We barely made it.
But this is the face we got at dinner, so it made it worth it. She
was also happy and singing songs the whole way watching her tv.
She didn't seem to care that it took double the time..
She got to wear her cute little pjs on the train
She met Mrs. Claus who she loved
Mail her Santa letter which consisted of Cars, Cars, Cars
oh and a telescope and dollhouse.
It was pretty cold, but we wanted the snow, because it makes
it even more special.
Outside at the little village by Polar Express
Some kids made an igloo
Fun decorated houses
waiting for the Polar Express!
Someone loves her daddy!
All of us in front of the Polar Express train
Mia boarding the train
super excited
Getting her ticket stamped by the conductor
This was honestly her favorite part-singing Christmas songs
She was so loud that everyone around her was watching and laughing and
she was the only kid who knew every word. She's been waking us up
to a different Christmas song each morning. Pretty cute.
And then Santa arrived!!
And she got her bell
Heading back from the North Pole through the time tunnel
The next day we took advantage of all the snow and
headed to make a snowman.
Building with dad
snow angel
the snow was really powdery so the snowman wasn't very
big at all , she wanted it bigger of course but I think he's cute!
Then we decided to go to a snow park up at a ski lodge
the ride up was pretty scary. Once we were there, Mia had
a blast.
the first 15 times she wanted Rick to go with her , but once
she went by herself, it was game on. We were so proud of her.
It was pretty cute.
all in all it was a good quick trip, the way back only took 3.5 hours
so it was much better!
Before we left, we got to visit with my favorite person in the
world, my grandma Lil who came down with my other grandma
Rosie. They both have lost their husbands in the last few years.
Almost one year apart exactly and they have known eachother
for over 60 years so it's pretty amazing that they are close friends
and they just happen to be my grandmas. Mia LOVES grandma Lil
too, can you tell? She was cracking them up the whole time.
Grandma Lil (79) Mia (4) Grandma Rosie (87)
The one on the left had 7 kids and the one on the right had
10. I always have to point that out because it baffles me!!!
Out of order pics from the drive up to the Ski Resort.
I'm 34 weeks this week and ready for my winter break for sure,
when I get back, I will already be 37 weeks. I want to make it til the
end though, I hope. On a side note, Mia doesn't like her Elf this year,
she's a girl and she named her Christine. The first night we had her, Mia
told me it was just too challenging to be good all the time and how it's just so hard
to be a little kid. She didn't like the idea of her watching her this year and even told
Rick and I ," Just so you guys are aware, my bear is allergic to elves so you might want to
tell her not to stay here." It's so funny, but she's stressing her out, because she wants to behave perfect.
Sometimes she will just look at her and tiptoe past so that she doesn't know where she went. It really is
funny yet sad at the same time :)
