Girls' Weekend

 We all got to meet up in San Diego for a much needed

girls' trip with my sisters and mom. We shopped, ate, and shopped, and ate :)

I forgot to post these pics awhile back but this was in January

when Mia got her gold medal for Sight Words which is 1000 words

She was very excited. It's the end of the year second grade goal, 

so it's awesome that she got it in first grade.

 she also got her end of first grade math facts award too

 Kellan got his hair cut this week, he was constantly yelling that it 

was in his face and then when I would try and put a sports headband of a pony in it,

he would want to go put one of Mia's dresses on... so I thought it was time :) 

 I actually wanted it like this but just shorter on the top, 

but I think the lady just copied Rick's hair 

 so this is what he came home with- he loves it!

Mia and I are sad, in fact Mia cried about it for 2 days, I said make sure you tell Kellan it's cute

so she would say I love your hair and then go around the corner and cry that he doesn't look like 

Kellan and she misses the curls and he looks like a diff kid- I am sad too not going to lie. 

 He's also been a stinker with sleeping lately and as

you can see he has all his toys lined up in his crib ( he def has some ocd in him like Mia)

We are trying to prolong the toddler bed thing....

 Kellan has also been potty training ughhhh

doing great at pee except when he found Mia's mini toilet in her 

room which he was super excited about and peed in it. 

 poop on the other hand is a huge ordeal every day of screaming, he tries to hold

it in instead of sitting on the toilet. It's beyond frustrating.

 last Saturday we went to the Lion Habitat which was really cool

They just had 5 baby cubs too!

 the lions were so up close it was awesome growling and jumping at the fences

Easter

 Coloring eggs- Kellan was "helping" but in a two year old

way so I put him down :)

 Mia wanted this fox for her bday and I could not find it anywhere

Good thing the Easter bunny could!

 He was hilarious. He would not let Mia touch his basket though

 out in the yard to look for eggs.. I think the Easter bunny just threw them out there

because they were not very hidden??

 he was definitely into it!

 then Marlee and Laya came to Grandma's and Grandpa's on 

their way back from Cali so we had another Easter egg hunt and

Easter lunch so that was super fun!

 Kellan moved his arm but he totally went right up to Chris and put

his little arm on his shoulder it was too cute

 Easter was a great day. We got to watch conference, hang out,

watch a movie about the true meaning of Easter and see cousins :)

 We started Mia in golf Saturday and so far she loves it.

We figure it's the perfect sport for her, it's a thinking game,

she doesn't have the stress of a team, won't get hurt, and she's tall

 Rick is on a new schedule starting this week,

Sergeant in SIS which is in the Organized Crime Bureau

so back to swings but Sat, Sun, Mon off so much better for him and us.

I will be tired Tues- Fri with working and coming right home to kids all night by myself

but no schedule is perfect with 2 working parents so this is better than most and not graveyard

so no more grouchy Rick for awhile, I hope :) 

Along with his new schedule, he gets to hang with Kellan all morning since he works 2- midnight so

he got his first, "I need to pee" today so they had to make an emergency stop in a parking lot haha

I'm glad he's wanting to get into this potty training thing, I was a little worried he was never going to.

 they ended up at the Container Park downtown to play 

and had lunch together so he's pretty happy to have his dad in the mornings :) 

this kid is so funny. His favorite word right now is Duh and What the heck?

Well Rick said Duh Kellan to him the other day and he got really sad and said, "Don't say Duh to me

dadda that's not nice!" It was so sad but he's so smart, because he knows what it means and we thought he just said it for fun. Then today he says, "Just don't tell me what to do mommy ok?"

and now when we go to my mom's he calls me Candice because he hears everyone else do it. It's so hilarous. Definitely a ham!
