Rick's Baptism

Rick came home Sunday March 15th and told me he thinks he needs to call the bishop and
get baptized. He's been thinking about getting baptized the last 6 months but when he went to church and learned our bishop whom Rick is great friends with, was getting released Sunday, March 22, and Mia asked him when he was getting baptized in the car on the way home that day after church, he just knew it was time and knew the spirit was telling him he should get baptized. He went back to the church to meet with our bishop and planned his baptism for March 21st on Mia's 7th birthday. A little side note: Mia just learned that Rick wasn't Mormon not too long ago and told us we hid that her whole life? It was pretty cute, because to her, he's been at church since she was born so she didn't know anything different.
He wanted to keep it really quiet because a ton from both wards would want to come and he didn't want to inconvenience anyone either.

my dad and Rick: my dad did the baptism
 Bishop Gardner did the confirmation
He spoke a lot about Rick's ancestors Howard Egan
and how they have been waiting for the day with Rick and how special it was,
it was an amazing talk. He came home right before he was suppose to be released as bishop and cried to his wife that he had many dreams that Rick was suppose to get baptized before he was released,
she said well I'm sorry that didn't happen ( he's been in 6 1/2 years and nobody knew why he was still in) Anyway the very next day Rick texted him that he needed to see him and the bishop knew exactly why, so it was very special for both of them.

new missionaries who got to be in on the baptism

Mia was very excited about this special day and the fact that it was happening on her 7th birthday
She did an amazing talk about the Holy Ghost that she wrote most of and it was so spiritual. Something super funny we were heading out to the garage and Mia says, " We are driving OUR car to the baptism? I said well ya and she said, " I thought we were taking a limo I was dying. It was sooo sincere and so cute, we may need to get a limo for her baptism next year. Also Kellan was hilarious because during the whole baptism he kept going from person to person and sitting on their lap.It was adorable.
my sister Brooke and her family were already here visiting all week so they
got to be here and Nicole surprised everyone and drove from Logan with Kevin and the kids

Rick was also able to get the priesthood on Sunday and is working toward
being able to bless and all those amazing things yet to come.

Mia's Friend Party

Mia really wanted to have a small friend party so Friday night after
school we went to the Cinderella movie, got In N Out and came home
and they painted My Little Ponys. They had a blast. It was hilarious
watching the Cinderella movie with first graders. They kept saying, " This is
soooo romantic," and " I know who you are thinking about.. to eachother." They were
too cute!

and they got TONS of candy, huge Slurpies and popcorn but they
are all so good and said "We are done, we've had enough sugar after just a few bites."
while Mia was with her friends, Rick took Kellan out to dinner with
my sis Brooke, Chris and the girls and then to Downtown Summerlin for
icecream. Kellan was trying to kiss Marlee. Sooo cute!
These are the cupcakes the girls got, but not mine, this is what they were "suppose" to
look like. haha

St. Patrick's Day Parade

We went to the fun and longest parade in Henderson for
St. Paddy's day. It lasts over 2.5 hours. We were all hot and ready to
go but Kellan wanted to stay and watch the whole thing and kept
saying I want to watch trucks...so we stayed.

they got tons and tons of candy

NASCAR

Kellan got to go with dad first on Friday and it was his
first time. Rick said he absolutely loved it... until he tried to go to
the cars while racing by and had to be carried out like a football out to the truck.
Rick said he was screaming and crying :( He is only 2 so he did a good job for his first time,
I think 3 hours was probably his limit, because once he realized he could actually walk around, it
was over with. Then after his nap when I got home Friday, he told me all about seeing the cars and how he started crying ( he even did a fake cry to give me an example) and dad had to take him back to the truck. This kid is so funny!

then it was Mia's turn on Saturday, they got VIP passes
a suite access again so that's pretty awesome and of course she had
to stand by her crush Jimmy Johnson!

 cuteness

Rick got her a cute Jimmy Johnson shirt too

 happy girl!

they both had a blast and I'm just glad they like it so I don't have to go :)
