Summer is here! Mia is obsessed with her tool set lately
and LOVES using her flashlight to fix stuff

concentrating really hard

Rick and I went to Flagstaff for the weekend for our 5th Wedding Anniversary and Mia got
to stay one night with Grandma B and one night with Grandma M
This is called Slide Rock park near Sedona, way cool, people
just had their towels out, jumping off cliffs, etc

Coolest part was an 80 ft slide made out of rocks
that you could go down, kind of dangerous! Anyway,
Rick tried it. I will post a video

We tried this place for dinner that was a musical review
so the waitress and waiters actually sang while serving, it
was interesting. Something new I guess. Flagstaff is a very fun
little hippie town, it was my top choice for college but I'm thinking
my life would have gone a different route had I gone there!!
We have lots of fun plans for the summer, so more pics to come :)

Rick has been taking Mia to dance all year and she
really wanted me to see, so I took work off so I could
go today. She is the best listener in class, I was so proud
of her, I think she will do great in preschool next year!

She is very sensitive to sound, so she was practicing the
recital piece and kept on plugging her ears, she HATES anything loud.

There was another little girl pestering her and she just
kept her cool and scooted over so she wouldn't poke
her anymore. It was really cute.

We decided not to do the recital because for one it
was about $300 and secondly she just turned 3 in March
and the other kids had been doing it since fall.

Her teacher even gave out evaluations and
hers said to start Tap/Ballet next year, so that's the plan

She was actually already put in the 4 year old
class because the 3 year olds were so tiny, so her teacher
suggested moving her up and she fits right in. Their rehearsal
song is "Wash that man right out of my hair." It's really cute, I'm
so glad I got to go see her dance. She has come a long way from not even
wanting to go in on her own. Now she kisses us and heads off :)

Mom and Mia day: I had to take a personal day from
work so I didn't loose it, and we had ALOT of fun!
First stop was the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay,
then we hit Red Robin for lunch, and then to the park
before naps (for both of us :) After naps, we went shopping,
got sandwiches and heated the jacuzzi at my moms to about 95 degrees
and swam. We had a very fun day! She told Rick it was a girl only
day, no boys allowed.

I've already written about Mia's obsession with dinosaurs,
well she's also obsessed with car models. She knows every
single one Chevy, Toyota, down to BMW and has the symbols
memorized. We spend all day counting the Hondas in the parking
lots and if she sees a new one like a Jetta the other day, she has it
immediately memorized. We keep saying if this kid has photographic
memory, we are sending her to med school!! We also thought
about going to a car dealership and saying if she could name every car,
we should get one for free!

While we were shopping, I was trying things on and she
would say, oh no that's not cute, someone else should buy that
She was very honest, I loved it!! 12 more days and I get to spend
2 1/ 2 months with her :) So excited.

We asked Mia what she wanted to do on Saturday and
she said the zoo, so we took her to the only one in Vegas.
It's pretty minimal but I didn't mind paying because they
need the money

feeding the fish

Then we went to Helldorado Saturday night. The
carnival was pretty bad, tons of toothless people so
we stuck to the one ride and headed to the parade.

Mia hates anything loud and she always has, so this
is how she spent most of the parade :)

And on dad's shoulders

Mother's Day: the only pic that she took smiling normal
was while I was getting my shoes on before church :)

cute kisses

We just couldn't get a normal pic: I had a wonderful
day, I slept in the casita so I could sleep in which was only
til 8 because it was too quiet out there, then I had beautiful
flowers waiting for me inside and Mia very excited that it was
Mother's Day. I got a very nice pedicure giftcard too :)

She helped her dad make me breakfast in bed but then
told him that she was a mother to her bear and needed
breakfast in bed too, so he set her up a tray next to me
so she could have breakfast in bed. Too cute!

This is the smile we are getting lately, must be a stage.
We then went to church and the guys and children
got up to sing all the moms a song, well Mia was
standing on my mom's lap and after the song, she put
her arms up and said, " That was just so beautiful"
It was precious

After naps ( for everyone) Grandpa and Grandma B
came over and we had Outback take out for dinner
along with her yummy fruit arrangement- perfect dinner
for mom's day, with no dishes : ) It was a great day. Mia
makes every day special to me. She has the most tender
hearted spirit. She has an endless amount of empathy
for everyone around her and she is truly the center
of our life and love for eachother as a family...
