Easter and baseball

Kellan had a blast at his Easter party at school and his
Easter egg hunt. We sure are going to miss this school!
Easter basket fun! The Easter bunny decided he would
get the kids ready for Hawaii with beach stuff and snorkeling sets!
I swear this cat enjoys holidays more than the kids- always in the middle of things
we went out to look for eggs but the coyotes
got to them first, they were strung out in the street everywhere
cuties!
then we headed to Grandma B to do an egg hunt with
the cousins! They were beyond excited to have Nicole and the kids there
for Easter and Brooke and her girls came up that day too. It was a blast.

there were alot of tears when they left though.
Mia just loves them so much and is so sad they don't live closer.
Kellan started T-ball and is loving it!
This is how he looked before his first game and after!
Seriously so cute! He's a lefty all the way: bats left and throws and
catches left too and he's a natural. It's pretty adorable.

of course he loves when grandmas and grandpas show up to cheer him on.

they have pretty cute coaches, super fun group,,
I told Rick his Friday night games will have to be our dates for awhile
especially when Mia starts her golf tournaments Friday night and Saturdays!
When I posted about Mia turning 10, I didn't say all the
amazing things about her..
This picture below is when she came home after school and got Kellan
popcorn and sat and cuddled and watched a movie because she said he told her
he had a hard day so she wanted to help him feel better!
Mia is an absolutely amazing writer, I mean amazing, she loves to write,
is sooo detailed and descriptive, she can write anything from non-fiction, fiction, and is now
writing poetry. So she won 2nd place in the school for her Writing Reflection piece
about protecting the snow leapards so she got to eat pizza lunch on the stage, got a trophy,
and certificate and lots of treats.
Mia is fun loving,
her teacher says she has the most self motivation out of any kid she's ever taught
she's serious and goofy
hard worker, loving yet sometimes harsh with her honesty ( like her mom haha)
huge vocabulary
a CAR FREAK - she can tell you every fact on any car down to the engines
and if she doesn't know , she will research until she figures it out,
she's creative, so smart,
can memorize and retain like I have never seen
loves animals- we call her the animal whisperer because she can train them,
and they just gravitate toward her,
she's a really good sister when she wants to be
and very loyal friend
She's taking her SBAC test right now and
my friend the first day said, I don't know if you want to know this
but Mia is not with her class at recess right now, she's still taking
her test, and it was 3:15 which means she was taking it from 9- 3:15
I texted her teacher and she said yup I can stay after school if I need to
she is just soooo determined and wants to do everything perfect, I worry about her
anxiety, she did the same thing for the next 3 tests, the last one done, 6 hours of testing
but it's her , she wants to succeed so bad , she was even willing to miss her fun field trip for GATE
because she didn't want to miss her test, I finally convinced her to go, but she definitely had anxiety about it. I guess we will see how she does in MS and HS.
But I do love her ability to focus and desire to want things for herself..
She's an amazing little girl!

Spring Break

We've had Carlsbad planned for a year
and rented a cute little 3 bedroom condo a few blocks
from the beach. Rick found out he had his luitenant test right in
the middle of the week so he flew home, took the test, and flew back.
So day one we were going to do the San Diego Zoo and have Rick there until noon and then catch
his flight butttt we got to the zoo and he realized he forgot his cell phone at the condo almost an hour
away, so by the time he went and got it, came back, it was time to got to the airport
So I got to do the zoo with these two for the day.

Well it was definitely an interesting day
I laugh and tell people that I saw more bathroom stalls than animals
that day. Kellan went poop 4 times , it was insane. There was
nothing wrong with him, he just pooped a whopping 4 times.
At lunch I had Mia save a seat at a table so I could get in line
45 min later I'm finally at the front getting my tray for food and she comes
running with Kellan ( leaves her spot) and tells me he has to poop
I had to leave the line and start #3 poop adventure
I told my sister this is why you are married when your kids are little.
You NEED the other person! It wasn't done, we then had to go again not even
30 minutes later. It was CRAZY. I was exhausted by the end of the day.
But the kids were still smiling. That zoo is huge, I didn't loose anyone
I checked it off my list, and I survived the hour and half drive in traffic on
California freeway back to my condo
( everyone who knows me knows that is amazing in itself)
I told my mom I can do anything alone , we all can, I just don't want to
I'm so grateful I have a husband who wants to be with his family all the time and
will even fly back and forth to make it happen.
I'm also so glad he is there for the bathroom
parties!
the rest of the week we spent on the beach which the
kids loved every second of. It was a little chilly for me so
I pretty much stayed in a sweatshirt but the kids didn't care.

we went to Aunt Bre's and got to see her new baby
ducks so that was fun and play with cousins and even got to
see Laith's football game but I forgot to take a pic of that.

these two had a blast!

my friend Ang and her family were there too
so we got to hang on the beach with
all the kids. They had too much fun!

and of course eat yummy food

IT was a great Spring Break and even better Rick
found out on my bday that he passed the first part of his
test so awesome bday present to me!
then we got home and had Easter and got to be with
Nicole's family which the kids were sooo happy about!
